THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING OFFERINGS:

tormaSince the time of the Buddha, offerings have been made by practitioners in order to support the teachings, practices and monastic community. Our situation is really no different. We rely entirely upon the generosity of many individuals to sustain our daily operations and special events.

Membership Program: Everyone who attends Gar Drolma regularly must engage in some sort of equitable exchange for the many programs and opportunities found at the center. This is true from both a spiritual standpoint and from a financial one.

Just visiting?: You are welcome to participate at Gar Drolma without becoming a member. If you do decide to attend Gar Drolma regularly, we will ask you to begin your membership at that time. If you attend Gar Drolma only occasionally, please consider making an offering on the day you attend.

7 Verses of Supplication To Tara
A SPECIAL PROJECT OF GAR DROLMA

cafeAs his last visit to Gar Drolma came to a close, Garchen Rinpoche made a special request... Rinpoche requested that Gar Drolma start a project to sponsor the copying of the booklet of the 7 Verses of Supplication To Tara For Protection. Now, I have begun working on this project. Our next step is to raise funds for the printing of the booklet. Khenpo has requested that we have the first set of books printed by the time Rinpoche arrives in July. Thank you in advance for your support of this project. To read the complete history of this project click here. ~Dianne M.
UPDATE ON TSUNMA'S VISA STATUS
Marian E. has been working on this project in conjunction with our immigration attorney in Columbus. In January our resident meditation teacher, Tsunma Rinchen Khandro received her Religious Worker Visa for Gar Drolma. Now Gar Drolma is in the process of applying for Tsunma's green card. The green card will give Tsunma permanent resident status in the United States. We are hoping to have her green card in 2011. The fees for this phase of Tsunma's visa are $4000 ~Marian E.

Tara Mandala Dance Workshop
Anita L. & Sandra C. would like to facilitate a community dance program at Gar Drolma in the Fall. The Tara Mandala Dance is a dance mandala offering of the 21 Praises of Tara. For further information about the dance, and the choreographer please visit: http://www.taradhatu.org/WhatisMandalaDance.html

We are looking into hosting a pre-workshop DVD performance screening in early fall and then hold the weekend workshop in September or October. If there is enough interest, we will begin the next phase of submitting a community program proposal in June.

If you think you would be interested in learning the Tara Mandala Dance, please leave your name and contact information on the sign-up sheet posted in the Commons area downstairs or email sandra.coomer@yahoo.com
